Easy Company and No Eyes with The Tourist

Sunday, August 8
8 pm (doors: 7:30 pm)
Tickets: $5/Advance and $7/Door

Easy CompanyEasy Company returns to the Halle in probably the last way you would have expected to see them... with only 4 members.  Upon finishing their sophomore record, "Blue on Blue," set to release this winter, Easy Company has downsized the band and has created an interesting live interpretation of their songs that are quite different from any studio recordings. Still complete with strings, horns, winds, guitars, keys and percussion, this Apex come back show is one that you won’t want to miss.

No Eyes is an eruptive band from Boone/Raleigh that has been crowding clubs all across North Carolina.  No Eyes has crafted their own blend of rock music combining the smooth melodies of 60s rock with catchy modern guitar riffs and vocals.

Hunter Macdermut is The Tourist.  He is simple, and he is quaint, and he is nothing you can take your eyes or ears off of.  His songs are modest and honest with an appropriate sugar coating of wit. He has just finished recording a new record and many of these songs will be a debut at this show.

History

Cultural Arts CenterThe Halle Cultural Arts Center was built as the Town of Apex Town Hall in 1912. The population of Apex was estimated at 700. Construction cost was $7,500.

It served many purposes. Outside the front door on the sidewalk was a hand operated pump well. The first floor contained a farmers’ market offering seasonal fruits, vegetables, and fresh chickens. A firehouse and two jail cells were in the rear. A ticket office was near the front door.

Upstairs was the Mayor’s office and a theatre with opera style seating anhcac nowd large windows for ventilation (HVAC today!). It was a home for silent movies, dramas and musicals, as well as the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources. It is located in the heart of the downtown Historic District and is perfect for exhibitions, musicals, dances, plays, speechifying, receptions, chautauquas, fund raisers, and celebrations.
